Venezuela Earthquake Relief

On June 24, 2026, two major earthquakes struck Northern Venezuela, claiming more than 5,000 lives, injuring an estimated 16,500 people, and displacing thousands more from their homes.

 CAF Canada has partnered with Wayuu Taya Foundation (WTF) to support emergency aid reaching communities affected by the earthquakes. Essential supplies, including food, water, and pharmaceuticals, are being collected and distributed to those in need with the on-the-ground support provided by WTF’s related organization, Fundación Wayuu Tayá (FWT).

One of the greatest challenges following the disaster has been the loss of storage and distribution infrastructure. Many facilities were damaged or destroyed, making it difficult to receive, store, and distribute aid supplies. A centralized warehouse is helping address this challenge by providing secure storage for food, medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and other essential items. The facility is enabling WTF and FWT to manage incoming shipments and coordinate aid distribution more efficiently across affected communities with FWT’s fleet of trucks.
